Avatar (the one with the blue people)

Avatar is a 2009 American[5][6] epic science fiction film written and directed by James Cameron and starring Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Joel David Moore, and Michelle Rodriguez. The film is set in 2154, when humans are mining a precious mineral called unobtanium on Pandora, a lush moon of a gas giant in the Alpha Centauri star system.[7][8][9] The expansion of the mining colony threatens the continued existence of a local tribe of Na'vi—a humanoid species indigenous to Pandora. The film's title refers to the genetically engineered Na'vi-human hybrid bodies used by a team of researchers to interact with the natives of Pandora.[10] (Wikipedia)

I've been posting things I love. Not anymore, now is the time for HATE.

This Movie is AWFUL on so many levels. The first being, the uninspired plot. It's basically a rip off of Pocahontas, Dances with wolves and many others. The ONLY original thing about it is that they are blue.
Dialog was monotonous and honestly condescending, the 'Noble Savage' angle was insulting and racist, ALL BOW DOWN TO THE POWERFUL WHITE MAN WHO WILL SAVE US!
The Military was so over exaggerated as 'evil' I was surprised no one boycotted this movie. It was completely unrealistic and halfway through the movie the army forgot that they where 'hired' and started acting like the government wanted them to blow up stuff with out a treaty of any kind. I don't know if this was a writing error or if it was a twist that they didn't explain very well.

Towards the end of the movie they completely flip the hero's modus operandi on it's head, he goes from military deserter to island native to military leader, which is workable. BUT THEN! He becomes the 'Legendary hero!' Being the only one in generations to fly the biggest thing in the sky! Successfully taking over all the tribes and leading his troops to victory! If the director wanted fantasy elements he reeeaaally shouldn't have done a Syfi film. The switch of genre infuriates me. If it wasn't a genre switch, what was it? I'll tell you what I think. The director used this to show that the peoples legends are no match for the sophisticated white man! He comes in and tells the gods whats what, spiritually strong blue people who commune with nature? PFFT I AM THE WHITE MAN! MY SCIENCE RULES ALL! If I can control one small bird lizard I can control ALL the bird lizards big or small! I will use my AWESOME intellect to show the silly blue people that I am their 'Chosen One' then they will have to trust me! Then I get more blue poontang!

This Movie was was the worst movie I've seen in a while. It's like they tried to distract us, with pretty visuals, from the lame plot.

Avatar was so left wing, it made me think there was a hidden agenda behind it. Take care of the planet or it will die and we will have to go else to find what we need! The military is evil! Commune with nature! I'm a Liberal and I found it horrible that this movie pandered to the left so much.

But I'm gonna stop now, because just thinking about this movie fills me with rage.

Don't Buy it. Don't Rent it. Don't See it. 0/10
